This was my first time seeing Satyricon and they were received very well. The majority of the crowd knew when to chime in on key moments and the band appeared to have a really good time. Satyricon is a band that was formed in 1990 in Norway and released their first demo in 1992. I believe their name comes from a book written during the Middle Ages, which is a period of about 10 centuries, but I once again digress… These guys generally get classified under the Norwegian Black Metal category but have dabbled in other forms of metal throughout the years. A lot of fans will tell you that their first 3-4 albums are their best but I say go check out the entire catalog. It is sort of like hardcore fans of Slayer only listening to Reign in Blood – yes, it is a monumental album but they have a ton of great material that came after (and a few before) that release. Go check ‘em out and support the metal world out there!
