Pre-show banter… Jen emailed me and said that she is playing at the Viper Room on the 30th for a Halloween gig. Mel and I drove into Hollywood, stopped off at The Rainbow for some dinner, end perhaps catch a glimpse of Lemmy at the bar, and then walked down to the Viper for some live music.
Venue Review… They were decorated for Halloween and playing imagery from films such as The Shining, Nosferatu, etc. in the downstairs bar. Not too packed tonight. Sound was good, as always. But, as always, their lighting needs some attention. Venues still haven’t figured out the distance-to-the-talent/Saturation ratio on these newer LED stage lights and they simply blow out every spec of texture by just cranking them up three feet from the artist’s faces. Other than that tiny detail, it was a fun night.
Reviews, comments, and possible putdowns for Cold & Lovely.. It has been about six years since I took these images so I am pulling this blog entry entirely from (bad) memory. In all honesty, I can’t remember much about this gig, other than what is seen in the images. HERE is a video that someone took from this evening – check it out.
