Reviews, Comments & Other Putdowns for this event (by Ray)

Headed down to The Scene with Melodi, Karen & RJ and met up with a few others for a fun night of music…
  • Venue Review: The Scene
It was decently packed but not overly, which is nice for for those of us who are getting a little tired of packed venues. We got there early and saddled up to the bar hoping for a drink or two before the bands started. The bartender had just arrived (it was 9:10PM) and was getting ready for his nightly duties when he asked us to wait outside until the doorman came. Really? He can’t serve 4 people drinks while he is setting up the register? Really?? So, we waited outside on the street for about 10 minutes when the doorman showed up. He stamped our hands and let us in so we could order 4 drinks. Lame… Other than that, it is a pretty cool place to drink and see live music.

Update: The Scene is no more – it is called La Bries, or something similar…

  • Invisible Humans:
I was hoping for a Skeleton Mask show tonight and was let down when I found out they weren’t doing it this time. Surprisingly, the show was even better than the first time I saw them. If you are old enough to remember when Devo first hit the scene then you will understand when I say that these guys pack the same energy and hooks. These guys are a lot of fun to see live so go check ‘em out whenever you get a chance.

  • Pussy Cow:
Opened up with “Hope We Don’t Suck”, which set the mood for the rest of the set. Fun, humorous, catchy and entertaining. Check ‘em out…

  • Silver Needle:
Hate to say it but we only stuck around for a few of their songs as the night was shortening and the drive home was lengthy. Sorry guys…
